Sydney AI Pty Ltd is a small Australian AI company developing Patricia, a personalised AI assistant for ageing, independent living and home care.
Founder and Technical Lead
Sydney AI is led by an AI researcher and technologist with experience in social robotics, natural language processing, applied AI and research projects at Australian universities including UNSW and UTS.
That work includes peer-reviewed publications in natural language processing and social robotics, membership of a championship-winning RoboCup@Home social robotics team, and written evidence to a UK parliamentary inquiry into artificial intelligence.
Development is supported by testing and specialist contributors as required rather than presented as a large team.

How we work
Research-led, prototype in hand, boundaries stated.
Working prototype
Patricia runs today on tablets, phones and the web, in simulation, and on research robots. Behaviour is checked under supervision before it is allowed to grow.
Realistic boundaries
Bounded, non-clinical use. Humans remain in control, with handover to a person when uncertain or unsafe. Not an emergency service.
