Patricia is being built in deliberate stages: prove the behaviour in software, use it on everyday devices, then evaluate it on real tasks with partners who can supervise the work. Physical robotics is added where embodiment is useful.

Patricia runs on a tablet, phone or the web with voice and text, so the assistant can be used and evaluated without any robot.

Physical robots
Patricia also runs on research robots, so we learn what changes when the assistant has a body in a room. This continues alongside device-based use, not ahead of it.

Preparing for supervised trials
Designing narrow, agreed studies with care organisations and researchers, where staff stay in control and can stop or take over at any point. No trials are underway yet.

How we measure a stage as done
A stage is finished when the behaviour is repeatable, a person can supervise and override it, and the result is worth someone’s time. Demonstrations, safety evidence and partner feedback decide that — not internal milestones.
Timelines depend on partner availability, so we publish stages rather than dates.
